Morning Devotions in the FTTA, Maxwell Reymer

My Christian parents started meeting with the local churches in Southern California in 1979 and I have followed in their footsteps. In 2000, after graduating from college, my wife and I moved to Memphis, TN to meet with the local church there and to develop our professions. After a year, we achieved our earthly goals. I was working in the technology department of a fortune 500 company and my wife was very successful in the medical field, but because of this move we both realized how much our personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ lacked.

I came to the Full-Time Training in Anaheim (FTTA) to enhance my personal relationship with my Lord Jesus Christ and to know more concerning His eternal purpose, His heart's desire, which is His economy (Ephesians 1:9-10). The FTTA offers a consistent morning devotional where I can confess and open my heart to Him, which allows Him to shine with His presence. The best thing about a consistent morning devotion is that it does not depend on whether I feel like doing it.

I am not a morning person, but every morning I must eat breakfast for my physical body; likewise I must feed upon Jesus in my morning devotion for my spiritual living. In the morning, I can breathe out my sinful nature, breathe in Jesus by confessing, calling on His name (Romans 10:13), reading His word prayerfully (Ephesians 6:17-18), and singing hymns (Ephesians 5:19). By consistent morning devotions, I can have a personal and intimate time with my Lord which will revive my spirit, cause me to grow spiritually and enjoy His presence through the day.
